Credit cards can either be your friend or your enemy.  If you use your credit card wisely, and just use it for emergencies and pay it off as quickly as you can, it can be very beneficial, but if you use it unreasonably on large amounts of purchases, it can become your enemy.  Many people will fall into the trap of owing high amounts on their credit cards.  Paying off your credit cards does not have to be a difficult process. With having a good plan, you can help eliminate the stress of having unwanted debt of credit cards. Listed are 16 ways to pay off credit card debts faster.

1.    Making a budget and sticking with it can prevent you from getting into debt.

2.    Write down, why you are in debt in the first place.  Do you not make enough?  Do you spend too much money on clothes, eating out etc.?  Find someone that can be a partner in holding you accountable to stop the overspending.

3.    A debt counselor can help you if you have severe debt.  There is nothing wrong with seeking out a debt counselor to help you with your situation.  Sometimes admitting to ourselves that we need help can be hard, but swallow your pride and get help from a professional that will put you on the right track.

4.    It is always wise to live within your means.  If you stick to this, it will prevent you from getting over your head in debt.

5.    Paying your smaller debts off first is the best way to start.  This will give you motivation to keep going on the larger ones.

6.    Try not to get frustrated and stressed out.  It takes time to get your debt down.  It is not an over night process.

7.    Budget your money by either using glass jars or envelopes.  Budget out a certain amount for food, entertainment, gasoline etc.  Put the cash either in the glass jars or envelopes and that is what you use for the month.  It is a great way to see where your money is going.

8.    Be easy on yourself by not cutting completely out any form of entertainment.  If you cut any form of pleasure out completely, you will surely then fail.
